What is HIFU?
Non-Surgical Face Lift at KINS Clinic

HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is an established aesthetic treatment that offers a non-surgical alternative to traditional facelifts. HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to potentially lift and tighten the skin without invasive procedures.

Unlike lasers or radiofrequency treatments that work on the skin's surface, HIFU bypasses the epidermis to deliver precise energy to deeper layers, including the SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) — the same foundational layer addressed in surgical facelifts. This non-invasive approach may support natural collagen production over time, potentially contributing to gradual skin firming and tightening.

At KINS Clinic, HIFU is offered as part of a customized treatment plan, where parameters such as depth and energy are carefully adjusted based on individual skin condition and goals. As with all treatments, results vary by individual, and your doctor will assess your skin to determine if HIFU is appropriate as part of your personalized skin management plan.

How HIFU Technology Works
for Skin Tightening

pixta_126364590_M_edited.jpg

HIFU technology delivers concentrated waves of ultrasound energy to specific layers of skin and tissue without damaging the surface. The device focuses this energy to create thermal coagulation points at depths of 2.0mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm.

At the 4.5mm depth, HIFU targets the SMAS layer, which may contribute to a lifting effect. This process may support natural collagen production over time, potentially contributing to gradual skin firming and tightening, depending on individual response.

Clinical studies have demonstrated that the thermal energy creates thermal coagulation points (TCPs) that initiate collagen remodeling and the synthesis of new collagen and elastin fibers — the production of new collagen and elastin. Over weeks and months following treatment, this potential new collagen generation may gradually help to tighten and lift the skin, potentially improving texture and reducing sagging appearance.

Individual results may vary. Clinical effects are based on treatment principles and individual response may differ.

Target Areas for HIFU Treatment

HIFU is a versatile treatment that can be precisely targeted to address signs of aging in various facial and neck areas:

Addressing Jowls and Sagging Cheeks

HIFU may help to address skin laxity in the lower face by targeting the SMAS layer and deep dermis. This may help to address sagging skin along the jawline, potentially reducing jowls and lifting drooping cheeks for a more defined, youthful facial contour.

Addressing Double Chins and Neck Lines

The focused ultrasound energy may help to contour the area under the chin while potentially tightening overlying skin. This approach may help to reduce the appearance of double chin and potentially smooth horizontal neck lines.

Addressing Wrinkles and Fine Lines

By potentially stimulating collagen production in upper skin layers, HIFU may help to plump the skin from within. This may help to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes (crow's feet), and around the mouth (nasolabial folds).

Key Benefits of the HIFU Treatment

1. Supports skin lifting in key areas:

HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy to deeper layers of skin, helping support firmness around the forehead, chin, jawline, and neck.

2. Addresses early signs of ageing:

By supporting collagen production, HIFU may assist in softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

3. Refines facial contours:

This treatment is often included in care plans aiming to enhance jawline definition and reduce the look of mild skin laxity.

4. Improves texture and elasticity:

HIFU can support collagen and elastin renewal, contributing to smoother and more resilient skin over time.

5. Non-invasive approach:

No surgery or anesthesia is required. HIFU is typically well-tolerated with minimal downtime.

6. Targets multiple skin depths:

Ultrasound energy reaches layers at 2.0mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm, including the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, and SMAS layer—commonly involved in lifting procedures.
